Letter to Parents of Students at Silverleaf Academy

November 1, 2007

Dear Parents,

At Silverleaf Academy, one of our goals is to prepare your daughters for college and to give them as many opportunities and resources as possible to find the college of their choice.

In December, we will start weekly college preparatory classes for juniors. Junior year is when students start preparing for the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) or ACT exam (Aptitude Test). These exams are required for college acceptance. Students also start narrowing down college choices and develop application essays. Weekly sessions for juniors will help guide students through this sometimes overwhelming and confusing process.

We also have opportunities for individualized, private SAT and ACT preparation at Silverleaf Academy. For more information, please contact Dr. Rochelle Victor at 949.829.9037.

On Tuesday, November 20 at 6:00pm, Silverleaf will have a presentation about the college admissions process and the SAT exam. We encourage all sophomore and junior students and parents to attend. Seniors, freshmen, and 8th grade students and parents are also welcome. The presentation will take place in the upstairs recreation room at Silverleaf Academy.

Please let us know if you or your daughter are unable to join us for this presentation.

Silverleaf also has a college resource room available for students. This room has books on SAT and ACT preparation, SAT registration packets, and a wide variety of college viewbooks, information sheets, and course catalogs. We encourage all students to make use of this room and its helpful materials.

We look forward to seeing you at the college admissions presentation on November 20 at 6:00pm in the upstairs recreation room at Silverleaf Academy!

Regards,

Lori Johnson
